About this hub

The Eigen Vermogen of ILVO (Instituut voor Landbouw- en Visserijonderzoek), based in Merelbeke, is a Flemish Digital Innovation Hub built on Belgium's independent research institute for agriculture, fisheries and food. With around 420 staff, it conducts multidisciplinary research for economically, ecologically and socially sustainable agriculture and fisheries, integrating technological innovation, data integration and smart-farming technologies. As a DIH it offers test-before-invest experimentation through six thematic living labs (including the Food Pilot, agrifood technology and marine living labs), knowledge transfer and applied research support. It serves agri-food companies, farmers, fisheries and the bioeconomy sector across Flanders and Europe seeking to adopt digital and sustainable technologies.
