About this hub

The Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Franken supports companies in northern Bavaria in designing and implementing digital strategies, tools and workflows for digitalisation and sustainability. A particular focus is placed on the use of artificial intelligence and how digitalisation and sustainable business can be combined in a synergetic way. The programme covers the use of artificial intelligence in a wide range of business domains as well as the topics of energy and resource efficiency and sustainability management. The centre's showrooms in Ansbach and Nuremberg offer workshops, training courses, consultation hours and other formats to encourage exchange. Demonstrators, joint model implementations and a roadshow round off the programme. The centre trains and supports the use of digital tools and workflows for the following applications: - Identifying the potential of artificial intelligence in a wide range of business domains and company sizes - Technical applications of AI, e.g. machine learning, computer vision, quality control and process optimisation - Use of digital assistance systems for knowledge assurance, customer communication and other business applications - Sustainability-oriented risk analyses, sustainability management and reporting as well as supply chain management - Energy balancing and energy management - Improved material efficiency, circular thinking and end-of-life planning Cooperation with third parties is an important factor for the centre. V., Hochschulallianz für den Mittelstand, XR Hub Nürnberg – Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality und Mixed Reality Kontaktnetzwerk, Chemie-Cluster Bayern, Bundesdeutscher Arbeitskreis für Umweltbewusstes Management (B.A.U.M.) e.V., Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Klima.Neutral.Digital, Regionales Zukunftszentrum Süd Forschungsinstitut Betriebliche Bildung (f-bb) gGmbH The Academy for Artificial Intelligence (AKI), as one of the four partners of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Franken, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the German AI Association and promotes non-profit projects and application-oriented research projects that stand for value-centred development and transparent application of artificial intelligence projects. The goals of AKI is to support science in AI research projects and to strengthen AI awareness among the public. Thanks to the network of the German AI Association, Germany's largest network of AI entrepreneurs and experts, AKI has access to a broad base of experience and contacts. Within the "Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Franken" project, AKI acts as a transfer partner with the aim of initiating and implementing SMEs in AI projects, promoting collaborative cooperation and providing impetus from the expert network.
