About this hub

The Smart Transportation Alliance (STA), founded in 2014 and headquartered in Brussels, is a not-for-profit collaborative Digital Innovation Hub for transportation-infrastructure innovation across modes and for the smart city. It focuses on the digitalisation of transport and road infrastructure, advancing through three phases: digitising data, digitising processes, and full infrastructure adaptation. Its technical work spans AI in transport, digital twins, geo-referenced mapping, IoT, 5G and support for connected and autonomous vehicles, and it contributes to EU-funded projects such as SCALE-UP and KEYSTONE. As a DIH it offers expertise, publications, ecosystem building and innovation support to infrastructure owners, road authorities, mobility operators and companies modernising transport systems across Europe.
