What are European Digital Innovation Hubs?
European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) are one-stop shops that help companies — especially SMEs and startups — become more competitive through digital technologies. Funded by the Digital Europe Programme, they provide access to technical expertise, testing, training, and financing support.
EDIHs focus on key technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, High Performance Computing (HPC), and advanced digital skills. Each hub serves a specific geographic region and technology focus, creating a pan-European network of digital support centres.
Cascade funding — many EDIHs offer micro-grants of €50K–€150K to SMEs for digital transformation projects. These are distributed through open calls, typically with a simple application process and fast evaluation (2–4 months).
