Overview
Innowwide helps innovative SMEs test whether their technology can succeed in a market outside Europe. It supports a six-month feasibility project with a local counterpart, covering the technical, commercial and regulatory questions that should come before a larger market-entry investment.
Choose a market because there is a testable commercial opportunity.

Success rates — the honest picture
Eligibility
- 1SME established in the EU, Iceland, Israel, Norway, Switzerland, Türkiye or the United Kingdom for at least two years at the 1 December 2026 deadline.
- 2No previous Innowwide award from the 2022–2025 calls.
- 3Independent local counterpart in the chosen target country in Africa, the Americas, Asia or Oceania, acting as the main subcontractor.
- 4Civilian feasibility project lasting six months, with at least €86,000 eligible costs and a positive subcontracting budget.
- 5Innovation at least TRL 4 and no higher than TRL 8 in the target market; TRL 7 is the indicative ceiling where further R&I is expected.
The European SME is the grant beneficiary. The target-country counterpart is a subcontractor, not a second grant beneficiary, and must accept the platform commitment; email acceptance alone is insufficient.
The two-year incorporation test concerns the applicant itself. A parent or sister company’s age does not satisfy it; prior 2022–2025 Innowwide beneficiaries are excluded.
Combine the required technical, market and local-framework feasibility work. This is not a grant for ordinary export sales, a standalone trade fair visit or full product rollout.

After you're funded
The €60,000 grant is paid as €42,000 advance and €18,000 balance after acceptance of the final report.
Keep records of eligible work and the local counterpart’s contribution. The grant covers at most 70% of eligible costs; subcontracting affects the indirect-cost calculation.
Practical notes
Choose a market because there is a testable commercial opportunity. A generic international expansion plan will not explain what the feasibility project needs to establish.
Official sources checked on 12 October 2026. Calls can be amended; confirm the current terms and exact submission time in the linked official documents.
Two experts assess each eligible proposal. The top 105 above-threshold proposals, including ties at the cut-off, go to panel and ethics review; 70 awards are planned. Passing the numerical thresholds alone does not secure funding.
The fixed €60,000 award represents at most 70% of eligible costs. Cost planning must cover the remaining contribution, the counterpart’s work and the six-month delivery period.
